How It Works

When you purchase Lost Luggage Protection, you will receive an email containing your VIP Smart-ID tag and an “Inside Bag ID Sheet.” Here’s a step-by-step guide to protecting your luggage:

  1. Print: Print your Smart-ID tag and the Inside Bag ID Sheet.
  2. Register: Register your Smart-ID with Trace Me at register@tmlt.co.uk or via the free app. This step allows Trace Me to securely store your information and connect with you via email. You can also upload photos of your Smart-ID attached to your bag.
  3. Prepare: Cut out the Smart-ID and fit it into your bag tag holder.
  4. Attach: Securely attach the registered Smart-ID to your bag and take a photo for your records.
  5. Insert: Place the Inside Bag ID Sheet inside your bag, ensuring it is visible if the bag is opened.
  6. Report: If your bag goes missing and doesn’t arrive at your destination, go to the airline’s lost luggage counter to fill in the standard lost luggage report, including the Trace Me serial number in your bag description.
  7. Notify: Send a copy of the report to Trace Me via the app or email VIPHelp@zendesk.tmlt.co.uk. You will receive an electronic form requesting basic details about your flight, your bag, and confirmation of your contact details. Attach a photo of the airline report and send it back to Trace Me.
